Our Promise to You
Plastic should always have to justify its presence in any product, not just the ones we sell.
Our number one objective in this work is to offer only products that are 100% plastic-free or 100% home-compostable or a combination of both, so people can successfully transition their living spaces as close to plastic-free as possible. Only rarely, if current technology is not available to accomplish this or if safety protocols and/or regulations require the use of plastic or plastic-adjacent materials, we will be fully transparent and explain our rationale next to each product so you can make an informed choice.
In situations where 100% plastic-free or 100% home-compostable or a combination or both is not possible, our priorities are the following:
Ensure absolute minimum amount inclusion of any plastic/plastic-adjacent materials necessary for product functionality (no gratuitous plastic)
Use only plastic types that are truly recyclable (read more about this here)
Ensure kitchen-related products and tools have zero food contact with plastic/non-natural materials
Ensure any plastic components in all products are covered in natural material(s) (read more here) to prevent consumer exposure to micro- and nano-plastics
Once technology is available to switch out a component made of non-natural material with a natural material, we commit to making the switch.
